Don't Fall for a Fugitive (Strong Family Romance Book 3) by Cami Checketts

ABOUT THIS BOOK:
A woman on the run … an appealing millionaire promising to shelter her.
Hazel Longhurst flies to America for Christmas hoping to photograph the beauty of Western mountains, learn to ski, and maybe find her an American cowboy. When she witnesses a murder, she runs, right into Heath Strong’s appealing arms.
Heath Strong has plenty of reasons to shelter and protect Hazel, but what about all the reasons he can’t resist her appealing accent, positive attitude, and adorable smile? Can he put his family at risk loving a fugitive or should he turn her over to authorities who might be on a mob family’s paycheck?
Will they fall in love for Christmas or be torn apart by the vindictive man framing her?

MY THOUGHTS:
I’m loving this strong family series!!!! It was so much fun to learn more about Heath and I absolutely adore Hazel. My Mom is British so it was awesome to read all the British sayings and words I grew up with. There were parts of this one that were a little slower for me but I loved all the extra romance and the excitement at the end! I can’t wait to keep reading the rest of this series!

Ten Seconds to Dead by: L.A. Clayton

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Ten seconds may be all she has left ...
Kate Edison witnesses her father’s death and, in order to keep his memory alive, decides to follow in his footsteps by joining the CIA. She molds herself into becoming exactly what the CIA is looking for---and captures their interest, both personally and professionally. But before she can finish the CIA process, Kate is offered a position as an espionage agent in another highly secretive government agency, which she accepts.
While completing her agency training, Kate is catapulted into a shadowy world where wealth and power are the ultimate goal, and those in charge will stop at nothing to get it. While on the job, Kate uncovers secrets that, if revealed, would cost her life, but if kept, could bring down a nation. Isolated and unsure of who to trust, she brings in a fellow agent, but pulling him into the web of conspiracy and lies puts a target on both their backs - and it will take every skill they’ve ever learned as agents to stay alive long enough to stop the enemy no one else can see.
MY THOUGHTS:
This book was all kinds of intense and action packed. I loved it! There are a few parts that are a little slower but it is still an edge of your seat page turner. PLUS Kate is awesome! I loved her and her desire to learn and help people. Her story is such a great one and the friends she made all have great personalities that just add to the story. I really hope that we get to see some more of her AGI friends in the next book! On that note, AGI is all sorts of messed up haha the reality that something like that probably exists makes this book even more intense. For a first time Author she did an amazing job! I can’t wait to see her writing develop and grow and she writes more!

Brink of Danger (Fog Lake Suspense Book 3) by: Christy Barritt

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Ansley Wilder has always lived life on the wild side, using thrills to numb the pain from her past and escape her mistakes. But a near-death experience two years ago changed everything. When another incident nearly claims her life, she turns her thrill-seeking ways into a fight for survival.

Ryan Philips left Fog Lake to chase adventure far from home. Now he’s returned as the new fire chief in town, but the slower paced life he seeks is nowhere to be found. Not only is a wildfire blazing out of control, but a malicious killer known as “The Woodsman” is enacting crimes that appear accidental. As a killer watches their every move and the forest fire threatens to destroy their scenic town, both Ryan and Ansley hover on the brink of danger. One wrong move could send them tumbling over the edge . . . permanently.

MY THOUGHTS:
This one had me guessing until the end which is what I love! Edge of your seat suspense and not predictable! Love these Fog Lake books and Ansley and Ryan are so cute together. I have a soft spot for firefighters because my hubby has been one for 18ish years! I can’t wait to read more in this series!

But a suspicious death with potentially far-reaching implications will test all her skills—and threaten to reveal her true identity. Can Cassidy and Ty discover the truth about the shadowy crimes in their cozy community? Or has darkness permanently invaded their beloved Lantern Beach?

MY THOUGHTS:
I love lantern beach and Cassidy. I’m not sure how I feel about this whole cult thing as the next evil on the island. I know that stuff is out there but I don’t like the idea of the island being tainted like that. Kind of a bummer. I still liked the book and it has a ton of suspense and action. I even like the newest member of the police force that is going to be good I think! Just not so excited about this cult story line we will see where the Author takes us....

Edge of Peril (Fog Lake Mysteries) by Christy Barritt

ABOUT THE BOOK:
When evil descends like fog on a mountain community, no one feels safe. After hearing about a string of murders in a Smoky Mountain town, journalist Harper Jennings realizes a startling truth. The sleepy tourist area with a tragic past hadn’t seen a murder in decades—until now. Keeping the community safe seems impossible as darkness edges closer, threatening to consume everything in its path.As The Watcher grows desperate, Harper and Luke must work together in order to defeat him. But the peril around them escalates, making it clear the killer will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

MY THOUGHTS:
Loved this one! It is edge of your seat suspense and had me guessing to the end which I love! Harper is amazingly strong. She and Luke have a rocky start but make a great team! The one had just the right amount of suspense and a bit of romance I really enjoyed it and was pulled in from the first few pages.

Shadow of Intrigue (Lantern Beach Romantic Suspense Book 2)

ABOUT THE BOOK:
For her entire life, Lisa Garth has felt like a supporting character in the drama of life. The designation never bothered her—until now. Lantern Beach, where she’s settled and runs a popular restaurant, has boarded up for the season. The slower pace leaves her with too much time alone.
Braden Dillinger came to Lantern Beach to try to heal. The former Special Forces officer returned from battle with invisible scars and diminished hope. But his recovery is hampered by the fact that an unknown enemy is trying to kill him.
From the moment Lisa and Braden meet, danger ignites around them, and both are drawn into a web of intrigue that turns their lives upside down. As shadows creep in, will Lisa and Braden be able to shine a light on the peril around them? Or will the encroaching darkness turn their worst nightmares into reality?

MY THOUGHTS:
I loved reading more about Lisa. It was good to get more background on her and her weird food combinations. My Dad always loved making weird food combinations. This one for me was a little more predictable than some of the others but I still enjoyed it and loved seeing the characters from the other books as well. Can’t wait for more of this series!

MY THOUGHTS:
This is the first book I read in this series and it was edge of your seat amazing! Dan and Cami are an amazing team. This collaboration between the 2 of them was pure genius! You will find yourself on an emotional rollercoaster and as any good book should you’ll be cheering, screaming and maybe even gasping or close to crying at some point. Can’t wait to read more from these 2 and the rest of this series as well!

The Baby Assignment (The Baby Protectors) by: Christy Barritt

ABOUT THIS BOOK:
BABY IN JEOPARDY

Tasked with figuring out who left a baby girl at the Houston FBI office, Special Agent Tanner Wilson has only one hint—his ex-girlfriend’s name written on a scrap of paper. But child psychologist Macy Mills doesn’t recognize little Addie, and someone’s dead set on abducting her…even if it costs Tanner’s and Macy’s lives. And with Addie and Macy as targets, Tanner’s new mission is to protect them both—at the risk of his own life andheart. Macy will do anything to help him find who’s after Addie, and make amends for her past mistakes. But for their reunion to become a second chance at love, they must find a way to survive the danger threatening to tear them apart.

MY THOUGHTS:
This was a fast paced suspense novel with a lot of action. I couldn’t imagine having to work with an Ex especially in a high stress situation. The chemistry between Tanner and Macy is there for sure but neither wants to act on it. You can’t help but cheer for a happily ever after for them all. If you like fast paced books that just keep the action coming you’ll love this one for sure!

Clean Getaway (Squeaky Clean Mysteries Book 13) by: Christy Barritt

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Gabby St. Claire Thomas has been given the opportunity of a lifetime: heading up a privately funded Cold Case Squad and handpicking the team members. Persnickety Evie Manson and nerdy Sherman Gilbert join forces with Gabby to bring justice and solace to families who still want answers.

On their first case, the Squad discovers that the murders of Ron and Margie Simmons are more than cold—they’re frozen solid. The couple’s anniversary celebration ended as a double homicide, and ten years later their daughter still longs for answers. But who would kill the loving couple? What kind of secrets hid beneath their cheery, All-American exteriors? With every new lead, someone tries to sabotage their investigation . . . but the team might just end up being their own worst enemies. As a deadline presses in, can Gabby and her Squad bring the heat? Or will this cold-case killer make a clean getaway?

MY THOUGHTS:
This Author continues to amaze me with every book she writes. I love this new spin off to the Squeaky Clean series. Gabby and Evie are shaping up to be an interesting pair. It will be fun to see how their relationship develops over time. This murder was a little easier for me to figure out than some of her other books but I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it. In fact, I am sick and should be sleeping but couldn't put it down once I got towards the end. Great book, amazing detail and description, fun characters! I loved all the song references and the mention of kopi luwak coffee. I'm not of coffee drinker, at all, but I learned of kopi luwak coffee watching the movie The Bucket List. Funny, but disgusting.  Can't wait to read more in the Cold Case Files!

MY THOUGHTS:
Page turning suspense! The quick pace of this book will have you on the edge of your seat! I was excited that there was closure on some of the events from the other books in this series. I loved the relationship between Julian and Zaya. That even through all the difficult times they have been through they both feel a strong connection and bond neither can deny about the other. You can feel the Authors passion for writing and can tell she really enjoys writing this series. This series never fails to amaze me. Can't wait to read more from this Author!

The Author really pulled me in from the first chapter I felt like I was living the story along with them. I found myself rooting for a happy ending for Mallory and Tennyson. This one also had me guessing to the end which is the best. I hate it when they are too predictable. This book was simply amazing. If you love suspense put this on your list!

Safety in Blunders (The Worst Detective Ever Book 3) by: Christy Barritt

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Hollywood sweetheart Joey Darling's adventures and mishaps continue in the third book of the charming mystery series set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

My name is Joey Darling, and I’m a disgrace to imaginary detectives everywhere.

When actress Joey Darling discovers a mermaid tail with drops of fresh blood on it while hiking in a remote nature preserve, she knows something suspicious is going on.

As details surface, Joey realizes she’s dealing with a problem she has encountered one too many times: someone desperate for fame who falls victim to a predator. With the help of her neighbor Zane Oakley and the opposition of local detective Jackson Sullivan, Joey hunts for answers, unaware of the deadly net in which she’s about to entangle herself.

Joey knows she’s a fish out of water when it comes to cracking cases, but can she use her talent—acting—to help find the missing woman? Or will Joey end up swimming with sharks?

MY THOUGHTS:
Wow these books just keep getting better and better and this one had the ending I have been hoping for. I love this series they are so fun! Joey is smarter that everyone thinks and she really has a nack for this stuff. She makes solving a crime so much fun. Even though it is tough I enjoy reading the love triangle between Joey, Jackson and Zane. I am rooting for Jackson. As fun as Zane is I don't get the marriage material vibe yet lol. I love that Jackson more a little softer towards Joey in this book and that they continue to work well together. I can't wait for more books in this series!

ABOUT THE BOOK:
“What do you mean a thirteen-foot lavender albino ball python is missing?”

Tough-as-nails Sierra Nakamura Davis isn’t one to get flustered. But trying to balance being a wife and a new mom with her crusade to help animals is proving harder than she imagined. Add a missing python, a high-maintenance intern, and a dead body to the mix, and Sierra becomes the definition of rattled.

The Sierra Files:
Pounced
Hunted
Pranced
Rattled
Caged (coming soon)

MY THOUGHTS:

This was such a great book. It was fun to see a different side of Sierra. I think parenthood changes us all and it was nice to see that her priorities are changing to her son vs. animal rights. I am excited to see where Christy will take this in the future. This book had a great Gabby like vibe but fit perfectly with Sierra. I love that Christy does so well at adapting the cases to the main character of the series you are reading. Another great one! Can't wait for more!

Note: I was given a copy of this book by the Author in exchange for an honest review!

She feels safe in her mountain refuge, right up until private investigator Trent McCabe comes knocking—and bullets start flying their way. Now for the second time, Tessa is on the run. But Tessa trusts no one—not even Trent. Out in the wilderness with danger closing in, Tessa must make a choice: rely on the handsome stranger…or take her chances with a killer.

MY THOUGHTS:
This book was awesome! I loved it. I know, I say that about every book... But seriously Tessa is the woman all of us ladies hope we can be. I don't think I would be strong and smart and brave In a life and death situation but I really hope I am. I had to have surgery and I turned into this big scared baby lol. This book is action packed! There are so many close calls and tense moments that I didn't want to put the book down. Then you throw in Trent and it makes things even better! People always say bonds are tighter when you go thru things together and that is defiantly the case with Tessa and Trent! This is one book you don't want to miss! Great job Christy!

MY THOUGHTS:
This was such a fun mystery about a city girl who moves to a small town and her next door neighbor is murdered. She decides that she wants to try to solve the murder. I love Christy's squeaky clean series so it was fun to read another of her mystery books. This one will have you guessing until the end! My favorite line from this book..."I understand that sometimes life takes you in a different direction than you'd planned, and you can either pout about it or make the best of it."As always Christy's books are awesome!

Dust and Obey (Squeaky Clean Mysteries Book 10) by: Christy Barritt

ABOUT THE BOOK:
When Gabby St. Claire’s ex-fiancé, Riley Thomas, asks for her help in investigating a possible murder at a couples’ retreat, she knows she should say no. She knows she should run far, far away from the danger of both being around Riley and the crime.

But her nosy instincts and determination take precedent over her logic. At the retreat center she feels like she’s stepped into the pages of a creepy gothic novel: an isolated island that’s often foggy, an old lodge with a dark history, and a small pool of suspects who each have either motive, means, or opportunity for murder. When another life is threatened, the risk intensifies.

Gabby and Riley must work together to find the killer. In the process, they have to confront demons from their past and deal with their present relationship. If they don’t learn to trust each other, they could both end up as fodder for the supposedly cursed island’s folklore.

MY THOUGHTS:
I couldn't wait for this book to come out! This series just keeps getting better and better! I absolutely loved this book! It's a good thing I had a house full of sick kids laying around because I couldn't put it down. I ended up staying up until almost 2am to finish it. My favorite line from this book is, " I knew I was loved by my Creator. I would never find my wholeness in anyone but him. So I pressed on." This book is full of suspense and will keep you on your toes. If you want to know which guy Gabby chooses or what Sierra and Chad's baby is going to be then this is the book you have been waiting for. This book feels like it redeems all the hard feelings and emotions you get from the other books not going the way YOU thought they would. Christy obviously has it all planned out so well and this book will leave you with a big smile. It's exactly how I hoped everything would turn out so far. It's full of mystery and murder and excitement and all the other things you expect from Gabby St. Claire! I can't wait for the next one! Awesome job Christy as always!

Note: I was given this book by the Author in exchange for an honest review all thoughts and opinions are my own!
