Random acts of Greed by: Christy Barritt

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Help me. Don’t trust anyone.

Do-gooder Holly Anna Paladin can’t believe her eyes when a healthy baby boy is left on her doorstep. What seems like good fortune quickly turns into concern when blood spatter is found on the bottom of the baby carrier. Something tragic—maybe deadly—happened in connection with the infant. The note left only adds to the confusion. What does it mean by “Don’t trust anyone”?

Holly is determined to figure out the identity of the baby. Is his mom someone from the inner-city youth center where she volunteers? Or maybe the connection is through Holly’s former job as a social worker? Even worse—what if the blood belongs to the baby’s mom?

Every answer Holly uncovers only leads to more questions. A sticky web of intrigue captures her imagination until she’s sure of only one thing: she must protect the baby at all cost.

MY THOUGHTS:
I loved this book and I love the Holly Anna series. This one was full of twists which I like because if it was super predictable it wouldn't be fun to read. Holly makes some tough decisions in this book. It is time for her to take some bigger steps in life. I am excited to see how she handles the changes in the next one! Great job Christy as always!

Disillusioned by: Christy Barritt

PRE ORDER NOW OUT AUGUST 9th

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Nikki Wright is desperate to help her brother, Bobby, who hasn’t been the same since escaping from a detainment camp run by terrorists in Colombia. Rumor has it that he betrayed his navy brothers and conspired with those who held him hostage, and both the press and the military are hounding him for answers. All Nikki wants is to shield her brother so he has time to recover and heal.
But soon they realize the paparazzi are the least of their worries. When a group of men try to abduct Nikki and her brother, Bobby insists that Kade Wheaton, another former SEAL, can keep them out of harm’s way. But can Nikki trust Kade? After all, the man who broke her heart eight years ago is anything but safe…
Hiding out in a farmhouse on the Chesapeake Bay, Nikki finds her loyalties—and the remnants of her long-held faith—tested as she and Kade put aside their differences to keep Bobby’s increasingly erratic behavior under wraps. But when Bobby disappears, Nikki will have to trust Kade completely if she wants to uncover the truth about a rumored conspiracy. Nikki’s life—and the fate of the nation—depends on it.

MY THOUGHTS:
This was a great book. It was action packed and full of suspense. I kept thinking I had the ending figured out but then something else would happen and I'd second guess myself. Just what a book should do! I hate when they are predicable and everything goes perfectly lol. This books pulls you in and you feel like you are connected to the characters. You find yourself pulling for them and hoping for a happy ending. I found that this line from the book really fits how things played out in the story, it says, "“'For such a time as this.’ I thought there was no better life verse that I could choose. I was put in the perfect place at the perfect time to carry out His perfect will. I was a fool.” We can't always plan out our lives. There will always be things that happen that are beyond our control. It is the way we choose to face each day that makes a difference and that is what this book teaches you. Having God in your life gives you purpose and makes things easier to get through with his help. As always Christy, great job! Awesome book!

This schoolgirl crush needs to end before she embarrasses her son and herself. If only she could tell that to her heart

MY THOUGHTS:
The Kiss Thief by Rachelle J. Christensen
This was such a cute story! I was about two insecure people trying to overcome their own short comings to be able to learn love each other. When love comes before they expected they both become skiddish and run from each other. We all do that in life don't we? This was a great reminder of many life lessons. Great job Rachelle!

The Lion, The Witch, and the Library by Lucy McConnell
I loved this one! Jennifer and Kirke were made for each other. Best friends long before a serious relationship bloomed which is how it should be! The best relationships come from being best friends in my opinion. This was an awesome addition to the set!

The Last of the Gentlemen by: Cami Checketts
I loved this one so much! Being a single Mom is hard. Trying to keep all your kids happy as well as your self, while still doing everything, is exhausting. I know from experience because my hubs is gone A LOT and I play this role nearly everyday. Emma needed a guy like Chayton in her life to help keep things balanced and to love her AND all her baggage. All the lacrosse stuff was great too. I know that is a big part of the Authors life which makes the story that much better. I love a great happily ever after! Another great one Cami!

Much Ado About A Kiss by: Heather Tullis
Fay reminds me so much of me. I am not a forgiving person at all. Once you are on my bad side it's near impossible to change my mind about you. I needed to hear this story this week. I think it was meant just for me... I loved Fay and Austin's story it was awesome. They come from a long history with a lot of misunderstanding. It was so fun to watch them try to build a new and better relationship. This story brought on a lot of thinking material for me...Great job Heather!

Pride and Persuasion by Connie E. Sokol
I thought this was such a cute story. Armand and Lindy found each other when they both needed someone the most. I love how their personalities complimented each other and they made such a great team. That is so important in any relationship. This was a great conclusion to another awesome set of books! Great job!

The Soldiers Bride by: Rachelle J. Christensen

ABOUT THE BOOK:
As WWII ration cards and battle scars become commonplace across America, it seems to Evelyn that even love is rationed out. When she finds a message from her late husband tucked inside a music box, Jim’s words have the power to change her life: Don't die with me.
Words written out of love, long-lost but never forgotten.
Grief stricken, Evelyn is unsure of how to honor his request, but she finds the courage to keep on living. Jim’s note urges her to give the music box away to unlock the secret within, and although it breaks her heart again, Evelyn trades the music box for a cradle to hold her infant son. Thus begins the decades-long journey of the music box, mending broken hearts, reuniting lost loves, and giving people the courage to heal themselves along the way. This romance crosses battlefields and time as the music box touches the lives of two soldiers, a broken father, a crippled child, a struggling farmer, and a woman once called the soldier's bride.

MY THOUGHTS:
*Sigh* This book was sooooo good I'm kind of sad I'm finished with it. I loved it so much and it isn't very often that you end a book with a giant sigh. The story of the magical music box was so awesome. It all started with a young newly wed couple and then moved on to touch various other people's lives. I loved all the stories. Obviously Evelyn's was the best and the main focus I was so happy with the final ending of her story but I won't ruin it here.. You'll have to read it to find out. I kind of wish there would have been an epilogue to all the stories but I understand that it was really mostly about Evelyn. Rachelle did an amazing job writing this story! I highly recommend it. I'm still on a book high from reading and don't know what else to say but trust me it's amazing!
