Dark Water (Lantern Beach Blackout Book 1)

ABOUT THE BOOK:
A FORMER NAVY SEAL HAUNTED BY HIS PAST
Colton Locke can’t forget the black op that went terribly wrong. Desperate for a new start, he moves to Lantern Beach, North Carolina, and forms Blackout, a private security firm. Despite his hero status, he can’t erase the mistakes he’s made.

A WIDOW WITH SECRETS
For the past year, Elise Oliver hasn’t been able to shake the feeling that there’s more to her husband’s death than she was told. When she finds a hidden box of his personal possessions, more questions—and suspicions—arise. The only person she trusts to help her is her husband’s best friend, Colton Locke.

THE FIGHT FOR JUSTICE
Someone wants Elise dead. Is it because she knows too much? Or is it to keep her from finding the truth? The Blackout team must uncover dark secrets hiding beneath seemingly still waters. But those very secrets might just tear the team apart.

MY THOUGTHS:
It’s fun to be able to still ‘visit’ the town on lantern beach. I think the Blackout series will be great. My husband was once Military so I get some of what these guys are going through. Colton is such a caring guy. I love how patient he is with Elise. Elise has been through a lot but is strong enough to know who to turn to when needed. This book was great! I can’t wait to read more in this series!

Books in the series:
One Summer Day
Steal My Heart
Not Over You

MY THOUGHTS:
I was so excited when book 2 was released I love this series! Carson and Evie are so cute together. We all need/want a man that is going to stand up for us and he by our side no matter what. My favorite line from this book is “You’re already fighting your own battles, Evie, I’m just carrying your sword when it gets a little too heavy to wield alone.” It is such a great story I read it in a day! I can’t wait to hear more about them in the other books and I’m so ready for the rest of this series! I love it!

Love and Faith: A Small Town Romance (Belfast Book 3)

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Clara Blackstock is a woman on the run. She realizes she can't live her life in fear any more as she sees the effect Ryan’s abuse has on her son. Clara refuses to watch her son fade day by day, as her ex husband's rage and control begin to affect him. So when Marge, her great aunt from Belfast, Maine, reaches out, and offers her a safe haven, she jumps at the chance. Belfast seems like paradise after the misery of Texas, and Clara hopes that this will be a place of healing for her and Declan. But there's nothing peaceful about the town handyman, Greer McCurdy. Clara can feel her heart coming back to life every time she sees him around town. But she’d be crazy to gamble on a man again . . . except Greer's kindness and goodness, and well, the fact that he's extremely handsome are kind of tempting. Belfast keeps pushing her to become the woman she was always meant to be, so when she gets pushed into singing at Riley’s wedding, her life opens up in new ways she never expected. Add in the fact that Crystal Standish is determined to turn the town upside down, and Ryan, her ex-husband wanting Declan back, and Clara has her hands full. Will life ever be what she wants it to be? Or will she forever be the shy girl, too timid to truly live or love, or stand up for herself? Clara will have to take a big leap of faith if she ever wants to be happy again. But will Declan be the one to pay the price this time?

MY THOUGHTS:
I love the East Coast it’s so beautiful and I can just picture the little town of Belfast. I could never move there because it’s too humid for me and too close to the MIL Haha. I love Greer and Clara’s story it was so fun to see him grow up and mature. Not so excited about Stephens story but we will see where that goes the drama makes it more exciting. My favorite lines from the book.... “Life can come in and knock us around and destroy our dreams, but we just got to pick ourselves up, and keep fighting.” That has always been my motto for life. I love Shannon’s books and I am soooo excited for Avery to get her story next!

Loving the Bad Boy: A Sweet, Small Town Romance (Hidden Hollows Book 4)

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Can her love tame the Bad Boy?

Catalina Garcia is a cancer survivor. With the threat of her annual check up looming over her head, she decides not to wait for the results. Instead, she is going to start checking as many things off her bucket list as she can.
Until her resolve puts her face to face with the town bad boy.
Westley York never cared about his bad boy reputation with the residents of Hidden Hollows. After all, they made up their mind about him a long time ago—whether the facts were true or not. He has a week left before he’s off probation and moving on with his life.
Getting involved with the wide-eyed girl with a No. 2 pencil and a crazy to-do list? Not on his agenda.
But she’s trusting—probably a little too much, and Westley discovers that she’s determined to find her wild side, with or without him. Worried she might get herself hurt—or even killed—he reluctantly agrees to help.
It was only a week. One week until Cat finds out the results of her test and Westley is finally free of his past. Too bad all it takes is one week to fall in love.

If you like misunderstood bad boys and wild and free heroines, you’ll love the fourth book of Hidden Hollows, Loving the Bad Boy.

MY THOUGHTS:
Cat has had such a rough light fighting cancer. I understand her desire to experience new things. West is such a good guy for her. I loved this one. This book has such a good message about not judging people by what you see and hear. This series is so amazing! Can’t wait to read more.

Loving Her Fling: A Sweet, Small Town Romance (Hidden Hollows Book 3)

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Can her love tame her fling?

Everly King’s life might be on a Plan B track, but she’s perfectly content with her job, her nights out at the movies, and putting her past behind her. She certainly doesn’t need to be reminded over and over that her sister is, well, engaged to Everly’s ex.
Austin Hayes is the architect hired to redesign Everly's beloved theater. As a widower with a young daughter, the last thing he wants is to juggle another relationship.
Thankfully, Austin is only in Hidden Hollows for a few weeks. A fake relationship seems exactly what both need. After all, when it’s just a fling, no one gets hurt. Right?

If you love witty heroines and loyal heroes, then you’ll love the third book in the Hidden Hollows multi-author collaboration, Loving her Fling.

MY THOUGHTS:
Oh I love Everly and Austin! This one was awesome. When I met my hubby his Daughter was only 2 this brought back all the memories of our early days together. I’m loving this series so much! I think this one is my favorite so far.

Loving the Bully: A Sweet, Small Town Romance (Hidden Hollows Book 2)

Hailey Bridges’ first kiss was epic, that is, until Rhett, her high school crush, humiliates her. The worst part? When he struts back into town ten years later, he doesn’t even recognize her.
Home is the last place Rhett Rhodes wants to be. Especially since he was labeled Hidden Hollow’s biggest bully ten years ago. In a small town, changing your reputation is next to impossible.
But Rhett’s here to be the best man to his best friend and he hopes his duties are distraction enough.
When he sits down for a simple trim only to receive the worst haircut of his life, he’s about to call it quits, until he realizes that the woman cutting his hair is no other than, Hailey Bridges—the girl he hasn’t quite gotten over.
Suddenly, leaving Hidden Hollows seems like the last thing he wants to do. Especially when Hailey’s spunky and beautiful and drawing him in like she did when they were kids. Too bad she hates him and he doubts he will ever be able to get her to see him as someone other than her tormentor.

If you love enemies to lovers romances, you’ll go crazy for Loving the Bully, the second installment of the Hidden Hollows multi-author series.

MY THOUGHTS:
Teenage years and High school are some of the hardest years of anyone’s life. I know that I didn’t enjoy mine and refuse to go back to my hometown. Not because I was bullied a whole lot or that I was a bully just that it’s not really a time in my life I want to remember dwell on even if it did play a part in shaping who I am. Rhett and Hailey each had their own stories. I love that they were able to overcome them and try to establish some sort of relationship together. Their story was really cute. I love learning more about the town of Hidden Hallows.

So when Millie shows up with her optimistic attitude and bad driving, he’s annoyed enough to take notice.
After discovering the truth about Luke’s past, Millie takes it upon herself to fix him. She won’t allow himself to close in on himself just like her father did. Luke is reluctant but with the promise of her Jaguar on the table, he agrees. After all, he’s been able to thwart Hidden Hollows do-gooders before, what makes Millie any different?
Except, she’s not what he expected and the feelings coursing through him were not something he thought he’d ever feel again. If only he could move on from his pain, he just might be able to love her like she deserves.
If you love broken heroes and spunky heroines, you’ll adore Loving the Beast, the first installment of the Hidden Hollows multi-author series.

MY THOUGHTS:
Millie and Luke have nothing have hardships in their life. Sometimes it is hard to come out of something traumatic and move on. I believe when you find your person it just happens like it did for them. I can’t wait to see who else will get their own stories in this series.

Content warning: This book contains sensitive subject matters including pornography addiction and the loss of a child.

MY THOUGHTS:
This book had me up until the wee hours of the morning and as soon as I was up I finished it. This book had me crying buckets. I agree with the Author that This quote says it all. “People are afraid of diseases of the mind. They remind us all how vulnerable we all are.” It doesn’t have to be pornography or a loss of a child like this addresses. I can be things like depression, anxiety and PTSD. Thank you for writing this book. Thank you for being a voice to all types of diseases. Thank you for being willing to share it. I loved this book it is one on my new favorites.

MY THOUGHTS:
I love this series! I wanted to read this one at Christmas but I was too busy and didn’t have the chance now I am down with shingles and it was the perfect distraction for me. I loved Robyn’s story. I was kinda bummed there wasn’t more of an epilogue I wanted to know how the castle changed for them. But I loved it all the same and will be sad when this series concludes.

Don’t miss the surprising, romantic, and heartbreaking Strong Family finale as Austin meets his match with no way of knowing if he can win the one heart he truly wants.

MY THOUGHTS:
I loved Austin’s story. It jumped ahead from the other books but it needed to. It didn’t bother me at all. Audition still has all his charm from the other books and he totally needed his own story. I’m sad to see an ending to this series it was so much fun but I loved this one and it all ended well!
