The Secret Bride Society (Volume 1) by: Amanda Tru

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The town of Secret is getting a pastor's wife. And the only one who doesn't know is the groom!

When Leah Barton overhears a covert meeting of the church congregation, she is concerned. After all, a graveyard isn't the usual place for members to meet. What could the congregation be plotting, especially if the pastor wasn't invited?

Of course, as the daughter of the town drunk, Leah isn't invited either, which makes it all the more necessary for her to find out their plans. But their secret isn't what she expected. Though she believes the pastor should be told, doing so could have dire consequences for herself and her family.
Secret isn't a normal California mining town. And Leah doesn't have normal responsibilities. Now she must decide how to protect her family, the pastor she admires, and the church while chasing after her three precocious siblings and dodging a church congregation comprised of a cast of quirky characters intent on having their way.

When the church's plan takes an unexpected twist, Leah must decide whose opinion matters most to her. Will she be content with a life and reputation dictated by others, or will she be open to a future, and a love, that requires her to learn and step forward in faith? And how will she convince all of Secret that the greatest danger to their future just may be a well-meaning congregation?

MY THOUGHTS:
I loved this book! The was a good distraction from a seemingly awful day. I enjoyed the humor in it. Leah was a very hardworking girl that stepped up to do everything to take care of her Father and siblings after her Mothers death. I would never want to put that burden on one of my children but I know they were all take that roll if the needed to. This was such a great book and can't wait for the next one in the series! As always books by this Author are amazing!!

Rogue (Tru Exceptions - Christian Romantic Suspense Book 4) by: Amanda Tru

Rogue (Tru Exceptions - Christian Romantic Suspense Book 4) by: Amanda Tru

ABOUT THE BOOK:
When the more honorable action requires a little treason...

Homeland security agent Kelsey Johnson never wanted the assignment, especially when it involves coercing Garrett Matthews, a man she despises. But instead of delivering Agent Matthews his new orders, Kelsey finds herself on the run and caught in the same mess Garrett was ordered to retreat from.

With their lives at stake, Garrett and Kelsey are now considered the enemies, and are being hunted by everyone, including their own department.

With their friends, Rachel and Dawson, their only help, Kelsey and Garrett must evade those intent on killing them and locate the evidence to clear their names before their powerful enemy catches up with them. Unsure of even the existence of such redeeming evidence, they may be forced to seek help fro the very enemy who started it all.

Unfortunately, there is a reason Kelsey has never been a field agent--a well-guarded secret that puts both her and Garrett's lives at risk. Though she knows she can't be trusted, she also can't bring herself to confide in Garrett, wanting to believe that the ghosts of her past won't haunt her.

But in the end, with her life a trigger's breath from being over, and a secret that could change the entire country on the line, will her own secret cost her everything?

MY THOUGHTS:
The Tru exception series is probably my favorite series EVER. The first one in the set "Baggage Claim" is my all time favorite book. I have been waiting for this one to come out for over a year and it was worth the wait. It is action packed and full of suspense. I loved getting to know more about Kelsey's story. She and Garrett have the typical love/hate relationship and when they are forced to work together, as their lives depend on it, it makes an awesome story! This one will have you on the Edge of your seat the whole time so make sure you set aside a whole day to read it. I couldn't put it down. Amanda's books are the best and one of these days she will be discovered and they going to be made into movies!  They. Are. That. Good! As always Amanda awesome, awesome book! Loved it!

Bride by Request: Historical Western Christian Romance (Brides by Mail Book 2) by Amanda Tru & Cami Wesley

ABOUT THE BOOK:
When following God’s Will may keep her from following her heart…

Charlotte Mason believes that it’s God’s will for her to be a mail order bride. But while on her way to meet her groom, her bags and tickets are accidentally switched with wealthy heiress, Adelaide Delaney. With the plans for her life hijacked, Charlotte finds herself forced to play the part of a railroad tycoon’s fiancé.

Unfortunately, the role is a tall order for a simple girl from Georgia. Plagued by hilarious mishaps, Charlotte must unravel the mystery of God’s will and find where she belongs.

In the end, Charlotte must choose whether to follow her heart or her mission to be a mail order bride.

"Bride by Request" is Book 2 in the "Brides by Mail" series.

MY THOUGHTS:
I really liked this book. It wasn't as witty as the first one but I think that was just because the characters weren't meant to be witty. It did fill in all the gaps the first one lacked in and it was great to get Charlotte's story. I think that way the way they intended them to go. That you need to read both to feel the complete story. This is a fun series of books so far! I think number 3 is going to be very interesting I can't wait! All in all great job ladies once again!

While on a trip to meet her fiance in an arranged marriage, Adelaide Delaney meets Charlotte, a mail order bride who is on her way to marry a rancher. When their bags, along with their train tickets, are accidentally switched, Addie impulsively takes Charlotte's place.

Simply wanting to avoid the marriage her father has arranged, Addie never imagines the difficulties of being a rancher's wife, leaving a trail of hilarious catastrophes in her wake.

Will there be any truth beneath the pretense? Or will Addie decide that she is a poor substitute for Josh Harding's bride?

MY THOUGHTS:
I loved this novella. I wish it were a little longer but it was still such a great story. Both Addie and Charlotte are at a point of self discovery and they both end up taking unknown paths in their lives. All the mess that Addie gets herself into cracks me up! Even though she never thought she would take a new path in her life, things really worked out for the best! I can't wait to read Charlotte's story! Another great book Amanda and what fun to write with your sister! Great job! I recommend anything and all that Amanda writes! Start with Baggage claim you'll be an instant fan from the first page!

The Christmas Card by: Amanda Tru

ABOUT THE BOOK:
A Christmas card meant to win the heart of a woman, changes the hearts of many. Cole Nikols had spent months planning the perfect night for his girlfriend, Sarah Whitman. But when Sarah abandons their date for yet another emergency with her ever-demanding charitable work, everything falls apart. Now, instead of planning their future, Cole is worried he’s ruined any chance he had with Sarah. Wanting to prove his love for Sarah, Cole writes a Christmas card. He sends it to everyone he knows, spreading the message of Sarah’s generous life and dedication to God, while asking others for help in his project of winning the woman he loves. However, never does he imagine the far reach and impact one Christmas card can make. Landing in the hands of so many different people, it produces a chain that changes lives forever. As the Christmas card’s stories come full circle, will Cole’s plan work? Will a Christmas card be enough to win Sarah’s heart?"

MY THOUGHTS:

I loved this book and the whole idea behind it. What Amanda would like to accomplish is so awesome! The whole concept behind it reminds me of the movie Pay It Forward. This book however is based more religiously on what would we do for the Savior. I love that Amanda wants to get the word out about her genius project around Christmas. The point is to have people that are doing random acts of kindness with the soul purpose of keeping the Savior in mind. That is the true meaning of Christmas anyway!!! I can't wait to put this plan in motion and to spread the word both about the project and the book! I plan to get my kids involved but I hope I can also get my church ward involved as well. It is a great idea and a great book! Once again Amanda impresses me with her talent and her great ideas. I hope this one goes far and does many wonderful things!

Assumption of Guilt by: Amanda Tru

 ABOUT THE BOOK:
CHRISTIAN ROMANTIC SUSPENSE NOVELLA

Nobody stops to think what it would be like to be arrested. That just doesn’t happen to normal people, right?

When a major theft happens at a party she’s attending, Sophie James finds herself the prime suspect. Has she been framed or was she just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Now Sophie must convince the police, along with her cop boyfriend, that she’s innocent. With no record, no motive, and no evidence, that shouldn’t be difficult.

Then why does no one seem to believe her?

MY THOUGHTS:
I loved this novella! Amanda's books have a way of pulling you in and you really connect well with the characters of the book! I found myself really feeling bad for Sophie and her situation. This book is full of twists and the ending is very surprising, it was a lot of fun! It's a great afternoon read. Even my 11 year old is enjoying it so far and she is not much of a reader. I love Amanda's books they never disappoint.
